I know to some it seems absurd to be talking about Christmas already, but according to my calculations, Christmas is only 98 days away, which also means before you know it, you’ll be having a food coma from thanksgiving and getting into the last-minute mad rush of the holidays! So, in order to get these in before the hustle and bustle and craziness that comes along with the most joyous time of year, we book early!

 

This year we are setting the pace to start off the holiday season right with our 11th annual Santa Experience on November 10, 17 and 18. You may be asking yourself, what is The Santa Experience? This is a 100% interactive session, one on one with the big guy himself. When we say experience, it is just that! Your children will read stories, eat cookies, decorate the tree and learn all about the North Pole. They will leave our studio with the magic of Christmas in their soul!

Lifestyle Photography With Baby Logan

One of the greatest joys that I get to experience as a photographer, is watching folks come together, get married, then start a family of their own. This has happened so many times over the span of my 11 year photography career. I have had the pleasure of working with Stacey and Chuck on their engagement, wedding and now the biggest milestone, the first photoshoot of their son, Logan. Stacey wanted something different and outside of the box, so a lifestyle session was perfect for them! Lifestyle Photography is personal and relaxed in your own home setting. While we have a full time newborn studio as an excellent option, lifestyle photography is a good alternative to the family that wants a unique experience.

Stacey and Chuck wanted to utilize their family property, the same place Stacey had her getting ready wedding photos taken. Here are a couple of flashback images from their special day in 2015!

 

Time really flies by when you’re having fun! It’s hard to believe that just 3 years ago, I was photographing their wedding day.

The threat of rain on a wedding day, makes every couple hold their breath! Listen up future brides….unless you have a personal in with Mother Nature, it is a possibility it can happen. But please….don’t fret! It is what it is, and while the thought of it may upset you, make the best of it, embrace it, and let’s get some really rockin’ images for you to remember! After all ….you hired a professional photographer and they have it all under control ( key word being professional)

I have to give it to Jessica! Excitingly, I walked into her hotel room with a welcome and a “what a beautiful day for a wedding!” Everyone looked at me with a blank stare….what? This is the best weather!! There are no harsh shadows to deal with, it’s August and WHILE it’s raining it feels nice (intermittent rain in New Jersey… in August… simply put, feels like a sauna). Jessica though….sitting over in her chair, getting the final touches finished on her make up, looks like this!

Combined, Jessica and Jon have 4 children. This image of their daughters’ looking at Jessica’s gown is priceless!

The “First Look” is when the couple see’s each other on their wedding day, before the ceremony. It’s a private moment for the couple away from their family members. Look at Jessica’s big embrace to her soon to be husband!

When it comes to regrets, I have very few, but one is not having maternity photos done, while I was pregnant with my beautiful first-born daughter. I didn’t want a camera near me! Not many woman jump at the idea, after gaining 25+ pounds and feeling swollen like a tick. Personally, I just couldn’t imagine wanting to remember that time of my life. Now, flash forward 14 years. I wish I could have those memories. With my second born, I wasn’t as stubborn and I’m so happy I have those memories. Actually, more than happy, because that was the session that inspired me to pick up my own digital camera and start learning.

Momma’s to be, remember you’re beautiful! You may not feel it, or think you are, but you’re stunning! Remember once it’s gone, it’s gone.

We have all heard about high school sweethearts….but marrying your high school sweetheart is extra special! It all started on Halloween in 2009. Through proms, and sports to college and adulthood, Kendall and Dane are among the 14% of people who marry their high school sweetheart. When walking up to photograph their first look, Kendall said to me with a shaky voice, “I just can’t believe this day is here, there were times when we never imagined this day would come, and here we are”.
