But…my iPhone takes great photos- South Jersey Photographer
I walked into a conversation last week and it boggled my mind a bit. The conversation went something like this: Woman: “Why should I pay all that money when my iPhone takes great photos?” Man: “I know right, I got the IphoneX and it’s real tight!”
It made me realize all over again, that we are in such a “selfie” world. While I love digital media, and my phone is chock full of my own memories, I still feel there is nothing better than a good quality print. This generation is the most photographed due to the luxury of cell phones and inexpensive digital cameras, but we are also the generation with the least number of printed photos. Just like the good old FLOPPY DISK, external hard drives and USB’s will be a thing of the past. Gosh the big thing when I started photography, just 11 years ago, was the CD/DVD, Apple doesn’t even include optical drives any longer in their newer Mac’s. So, what is to happen with all of those precious images of your baby’s first birthday, your wedding day, those beloved photos of your loved ones who have passed? Do we trust in the cloud, and that if something happened to us, will our children know how to have access to all their childhood memories? I love going through old photographs of my ancestors, will our children even know what that feeling is like?
Why Should I Spend Money on Professional Photography?
This brings me to the next point: Why spend money on photography when my phone takes great photos? Have you ever tried to print one of those cell phone photos larger than an 8×10? Ugh! I have, and it’s not so pretty. There is a lot more that goes into photography than just taking a good photo. There are considerations such as lighting, composition, and posing to mention a few. You’re not just paying for a picture, you should be paying for an experience. I know here, at Memory Keeper Photography, we strive in making every session an experience you won’t forget. Our aim is to provide you with excellent service, quality images and products, and tangible items that you will cherish not only now, but will be passed to generations to come. Oh, did I mention retouches?! Amazing!!
I love that Instagram Filter!
Motherhood is one of the memories that many moms-to-be will capture on their cell phone cameras. I see them on my instagram feed daily. While that is AWESOME, chances are, you’re not backing them up properly, you’re not printing them out, or putting them into a keepsake album. Having Maternity Photos taken 30-35 weeks gestation is a beautiful memory to hold on to. Your body has changed, you have a glow about you, and you’re simply just excited for the baby to arrive. Maternity photography is among my favorites! When Molly and Luis contacted me about photographing their maternity session, we planned their attire, picked a location and simply rocked their session. Here are a few of my favorite images that we captured from their maternity session on Sunday. YES, I said Sunday, not 4 Sunday’s ago, this past Sunday. This is a full time job, so not only do you get great customer service, but our turnaround time is outstanding! We photograph over 300 sessions, 20 weddings, and over 1000 headshots, per year, and our consistency has never faltered.
